The state of Maine has 32 state parks and over 500,000 acres of protected land where
visitors can connect with nature, hike, bike, climb, swim, camp, fish, snowmobile and more!
With its beautiful scenery, bike-friendly roads and shared-use paths, Maine is a great place to cycle.
In the mountains, along the coast, through the woods and over the beautiful byways in between, cyclists
of all ages and skill levels find that cycling in Maine is a great experience.
An amazing network of trails makes it possible for ATV riders to travel throughout much of
Maine. Trails include multi-use and multi-use rail trails through scenic recreation and wildlife
areas. Be on the lookout for other trail users and wildlife on the trail.
Thousands of miles of maintained snowmobile trails throughout Maine are available to followers
of this exciting and popular winter sport. Many of the trails interconnect and adventurous
snowmobilers can travel extensively, even beyond Maine's borders into Canada and New Hampshire.
Being a responsible user of the Maine outdoors means staying informed of, and complying with,
the current laws and rules. You can visit the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife
to view and download the current laws.
